Regulation

F-Gas regulation

The European regulation related to use of F-Gases is applicable since July 4th 2006.

The regulation will enter into force on July 4th 2007, within the European Community member states. In order to fulfil the requirements of Kyoto protocol, the F-Gas regulation aims to reduce refrigerant leaks and refrigerant load. Moreover, all staff who handle refrigerant shall be individually certified and all producers, importers and exporters of HFC refrigerants shall be registered in a common European base.

Moreover, through a decision taken on Dec. 8th 2006, and published into the official European journal on February 6th 2007, the European commission allowed Denmark to implement their own national rules which are a step ahead from F-Gas: indeed since January 1st 2007, gases with global warming potential are forbidden as soon as the load is over 10 kg in case of refrigeration units, air conditioning units and heat pumps or over 50 kg in case of refrigeration units with heat recovery.
