Equipment included in a CO2 plant
AXIMA REFRIGERATION offers the following equipment :
For CO2 production.
- Absorber : Absorption of CO2 contained in flue gas, e.g. in an amine solution.
- Stripper : Extraction of CO2 from amine solution.
For any CO2 purification installation
with an output between a few tens kg/h to several tens of t/h, AXIMA REFRIGERATION can supply the following equipment : catalytic oxydation tower, Foam trap, scrubber tower, gasometer, CO2 compressor, dryer, purifier, liquefaction unit, distillation tower, liquid CO2 storage, vaporiser, bottle or lorry filling station.

Catalytic* oxydation tower : catalytic oxydation for removal of hydrocarbons components. |

Foam trap : Traps the foam issuing from fermentation vats, etc. |

Scrubber tower : CO2 is cleaned with water in order to remove yeast residues and impurities |

Gasometer : Adjustment of average CO2 flowrate to be treated. |

Separator : Separation of water contained in gas. |

CO2 compressor : The gaseous CO2 at atmospheric pressure is compressed, and condensed. AXIMA REFRIGERATION FRANCE offers oil-free reciprocating compressors (self-manufactured for high flowrate) and oil lubricated screw compressors for over 2 t/h, with total oil separation system. |

Dryer : Elimination of water vapour fromthe gaseous CO2 in order to avoid corrosion or hydrous ice formation. It consists of 2 distinct vertical columns, one in operation, the other in regeneration. |

Purifier : Removal of odorous compounds (ester, aldehyde and hydrogen sulphide, etc) and oil in case of using screw compressors, with activated carbon filter. |

Liquefaction unit : Gaseous CO2 condensation passing through the refrigerating unit evaporator. |

Distillation tower* : With distiller and condenser, to get extremely pure CO2. |

Liquid CO2 storage : Under pressure at low temperature in a thermally insulated cylindrical tank, often refrigerated, with a capacity between 1.5 tons and 100 tons. A system allowing to keep the required pressure in the tank with emergency power may be installed, in case the main installation should stop. |

Vaporiser : The vaporisers vary according to the source of heat required for vaporising :
